No projects this week

I don't have any projects planned for this week. There is just too much going on right now. But for the record, I did finish the other side of the project I posted below. And I finished it the same day, albeit much later that day. Ha ha! *pats self on back*

I still haven't managed to get my desk cleaned off. It seems to be where all the *junk* accumulates. I think I need to work on my organizing skills. Any suggestions on how to keep all that clutter from piling up on your desk?

Later gator ;)

Bulletin Board Insert

We have a computer armoire that houses our main computer and all the other junk files etc. (which is a complete disaster at the moment). Each of the doors has this inset area that I thought would be great for bulletin boards. I purchased a set of four 12 x 12 cork squares a while ago and just kinda stuck them up. So one side had a complete cork area and the other just got the leftover square. Don't ask my why I didn't buy more squares.... I don't know why but I didn't.
I wanted to make new bulletin inserts for each door and cover them with fabric. So while I was at Jo-Ann's this morning I found this fabric that I LOVE! And I knew if I didn't go ahead and start this project I would probably never finish it. Ahem. I have many unfinished/not started/forgotten projects...

But I somehow forgot that I would need something to use on the side that only had one lonely cork square. Then I remembered a blog I saw somewhere a while back, where she used diaper boxes to recreate a Ballard Design board! Please forgive me. I can not remember the actual blog or I would gladly post a link! Whoever she is, she is a Genius!

Cardboard boxes to the rescue!

So the before picture...

I knew I needed it to be thick so I cut 2 pieces of cardboard to fit my door. And since I had 1 cork square on this side I used it too. I glued the cork and the smaller piece of cardboard together using spray adhesive.

Then I cut the fabric to fit and used the spray adhesive to adhere it to the cardboard.

And here it is finished!

Add some accessories!

I LOVE IT!

Now I just have to make one for the other side!

Thanks for checking out my blog!!!! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

**Edit** I did actually finish the other side later that night! And a few months later, they are still holding up beautifully!

Yep, It's been a while..

I'm terrible at blogging apparently. I forget about it. I have decided that blogging may not be for me, although I love to read other people's blogs. There are some crafty people out there!

Speaking of which, I keep seeing posts about projects done with ORB pain
t. As in Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint for those like me w
ho didn't know. So I decided I wanted to check in out.

I purchased a can on my last Wal-mart trip and was uncertain on how it would actually look. Until today. I had an empty metal container that my blue eyed
monster loves to play with and keep his markers in. So I painted it with the orb paint. And.....

it looks awesome (with the exceptions of a few pieces of dust/debris since it was a wee bit windy here today).

See for yourself

I forgot to take a before photo but it was a pepperidge farm pirouette rolled wafer canister.

I must confess. I am now completely in love with orb paint. Even with the small imperfections in the paint, it is still gorgeous. I like it so much I am hesitant to give it to my kiddo to use. But then again, I can just make another one for myself. (As soon as I go buy some more of those yummy to my tummy cookies! This one was from Christmas.)

I also discovered this handy dandy spray paint can handle. Sorry I don't have a picture of that either. But trust me, if you spray paint anything, you need one of these handles! They are awesome! No more sore finger tips covered in paint! Woot woot!

Anywho, I am now going to get my cricut out and cut some vinyl letters for the kiddos marker canister. You know before I forget about that too! lol

Hope you are all having a great weekend!
