Puppy Food Bowls

We've had the generic puppy food bowls for some time. I intentionally got different colors so that we would know one was for water and the other for food. (Yes, I must admit before these I had forgotten which bowl was food and which was water. ) Although I am certain my dogs do not care if there are little particles of dog food in their water bowl, it bothers me.

So we have decided to try and let the little man be responsible for giving the puppies (as we like to call them) their food and water. And of course, I just like to make things cuter.

If I can ever remember, I will post a pic of the puppy treat container we spruced up too :)

I apologize in advance for the terrible photo. :( I can't find my camera so I had to use my phone.

No More Ugly Wipe Canisters!

I saw this post over at Decor-ganize and thought it would be fun to try, and I did! She has a lot of other great ideas, so you really should check it out!

Before...
typical ugly cleaning wipe canister. And yes, I totally used my kiddo's pillow pet as a backdrop 'cause that is how I roll... :D And 'cause my dining room is a disaster area.

After.... Ahhhhh, that's much better!

And together for a side by side comparison.
Which one of these would you rather be looking at?

This was super easy and much better than looking at those random cleaning wipe labels! I just make sure to mark the lid with the type of wipes so everyone knows what they are.

Ooooo....I need to come up with super cute labels for the top!

Lamp Makeover

A few months ago we purchased new living room furniture and got rid of the enormous sectional that took up all the space in our teeny weeny living room. Yay! I then needed some lamps since I finally had room for end tables! I didn't want to spend a lot of $$$ so I hit up goodwill. (This way when my blue eyed monster knocks them off the tables I won't feel bad when they break!)

I, meaning my hubby, spotted these matching atrocities. Apparently I didn't take a picture of both of them, but you get the idea. And in case you can't tell yet, I am terrible at taking pictures! Sorry!

So after a good scrubbing and by using a little spray paint and some fabric, I turned them into these. And again, I apparently didn't photograph them together but there really are two of them!

Here are few photos of the process...

This was my first attempt at revamping pretty much anything. I know. I know.
I'm thinking I need to just paint the whole lamp a solid color. The brass parts just aren't working for me.

Uhh... I guess I took a long hiatus

LOL!!!

No projects planned for the week turned into no posts for a few months. Oh my!
Things have busy around here the past few months. The little man had preschool and then he played his first year of tball, which just ended last week.

The good news is I have a lot of projects to work on. Like 10 or so that have to be done soon. Hopefully, I will get in gear and finish ahem... start them and post about my screw ups adventures.

I also just got this awesome thing last week and am very excited about it! I just have to figure out how to use it first.... giggle.

I'm no sewing expert. In fact, I am barely a beginner so this could take a while for me to get the hang of. But I have a friend who is expecting her first baby next month and I wanted to make her something special, so I better get it figured out soon!

No projects this week

I don't have any projects planned for this week. There is just too much going on right now. But for the record, I did finish the other side of the project I posted below. And I finished it the same day, albeit much later that day. Ha ha! *pats self on back*

I still haven't managed to get my desk cleaned off. It seems to be where all the *junk* accumulates. I think I need to work on my organizing skills. Any suggestions on how to keep all that clutter from piling up on your desk?

Later gator ;)

Bulletin Board Insert

We have a computer armoire that houses our main computer and all the other junk files etc. (which is a complete disaster at the moment). Each of the doors has this inset area that I thought would be great for bulletin boards. I purchased a set of four 12 x 12 cork squares a while ago and just kinda stuck them up. So one side had a complete cork area and the other just got the leftover square. Don't ask my why I didn't buy more squares.... I don't know why but I didn't.
I wanted to make new bulletin inserts for each door and cover them with fabric. So while I was at Jo-Ann's this morning I found this fabric that I LOVE! And I knew if I didn't go ahead and start this project I would probably never finish it. Ahem. I have many unfinished/not started/forgotten projects...

But I somehow forgot that I would need something to use on the side that only had one lonely cork square. Then I remembered a blog I saw somewhere a while back, where she used diaper boxes to recreate a Ballard Design board! Please forgive me. I can not remember the actual blog or I would gladly post a link! Whoever she is, she is a Genius!

Cardboard boxes to the rescue!

So the before picture...

I knew I needed it to be thick so I cut 2 pieces of cardboard to fit my door. And since I had 1 cork square on this side I used it too. I glued the cork and the smaller piece of cardboard together using spray adhesive.

Then I cut the fabric to fit and used the spray adhesive to adhere it to the cardboard.

And here it is finished!

Add some accessories!

I LOVE IT!

Now I just have to make one for the other side!

Thanks for checking out my blog!!!! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

**Edit** I did actually finish the other side later that night! And a few months later, they are still holding up beautifully!
